A fun math and physics tutor, Anish holds a bachelor’s degree in both physics and economics (with a math minor) from Case Western Reserve University. He is now pursuing a master’s degree in applied economics from Montana State University, where he teaches as a graduate assistant.
Anish started tutoring as an undergraduate, teaching physics, economics, mathematics, and SAT prep to students of all ages, namely the middle school, high school, and college levels. “My pedagogy across all levels of education is that students should be taught how to think rather than what to think,” Anish says. He adds that he enjoys having students challenge him. “My tutorial style is firm but fair as I want my students to excel,” he says. Anish has always loved math and finished the US equivalent of arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra I-II, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus by 9th grade and calculus by 10th all with A's. He spent his junior and senior years of high school taking college-level math courses.
As a student, Anish played soccer and cricket. He enjoys YouTube, chess, watching combat sports, and playing soccer. He lived in eight different countries during his first seventeen years of life. Anish is interested in videography and music and he used to run a YouTube channel that translated Bollywood music into English. “I work hard and I play hard depending on the situation—with the work-life balance being important to me,” Anish says.
