PrepNow Tutor - Hannah C.
A very successful StudyPoint tutor for 3+ years, Hannah is already well versed in ACT and SAT strategies and explains her unique approach. "I frequently work on problems without looking at the answers, to facilitate an environment where everyone makes mistakes, including myself." She has experience in the classroom as well, teaching English and ESL. Also, she is shaping her career in arts and theater; she works tech and onstage at a local comedy theater. In addition, she uses her art training from UT Austin to run a freelance illustration business. Along the way, she's worn many hats - retail, restaurants, hospitality, clerical work, and deliveries. "Ask me, and I've probably done it!"
Hannah believes that people naturally learn more easily when they're interested in their goals, the subject, or improving themselves. As such, she sees her role as both teammate and coach and she sets expectations that are ambitious yet achievable. "My best scores have always been in English and reading," she explains, "but I'm more confident in my ability to teach math because I've had to work harder on it. I can explain math concepts with a lot of fluency."
Hannah draws and writes her own original work, and sews her own clothes in her spare time. She does a lot of improv comedy and is teaching herself how to play the ukulele and the melodica. Fluent in Japanese, Hannah spent months traveling through Japan.
