Peach's Bio

A flutist and educator, Peach enjoys reading critical theory and supernatural fiction. She holds a BA in music—with a performance concentration—from Stanford University; she also has an MM in flute performance from the New England Conservatory. After obtaining her master's degree, Peach entered the education industry and has spent the past several years supporting students, families, and teachers in standardized test preparation and subject tutoring.

As an undergraduate student, Peach was an Education Partnership Fellow with the Haas Center for Public Service. She worked specifically as a seventh-grade ELAR teacher and Alumni Engagement Coordinator for the East Palo Alto Stanford Academy, a program dedicated to supporting middle school students as they prepare to enter high school. “This experience was the genesis of my teaching career, as it exposed me to the joys of instruction and allowed me to develop my pedagogical style,” Peach says. “In the years since, I've been able to hone my teaching to better serve my students—individually and in group settings.” Peach has been tutoring formally since 2016, teaching middle school ELA, math, writing, AP Physics, as well as SAT and ACT prep.

When asked about her tutoring style, Peach says, “I believe in creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves authentically. In these affirming environments, I support students in goal-setting, test-preparation, and confidence-building processes; and I like to maintain a tutor-tutee relationship that acknowledges their entire personhood and values them independently of the work they produce.” Peach welcomes students’ mistakes as a crucial aspect of their work, noting that they are necessary for academic growth. “This allows me to more easily address where students' academic struggles stem from, expediting the learning process.”

Peach is the recipient of the Carolyn Applebaum Memorial Prize, as well as scholarships from Stanford and the New England Conservatory. In both high school and college, she was a flutist in various school and local orchestras. Throughout her undergraduate studies, Peach maintained a thriving teaching studio of flute students.

Peach recently moved to a new area of the country and, as a weekend activity, she takes public transportation and treks to different spots and journals about her experiences. “When I'm not trekking, I spend my time practicing my instruments, utilizing my gym membership, and reading books,” Peach says. “I set a goal of reading 14 books during 2024, and I am halfway through my first title.” Peach plays a total of seven instruments: flute, piccolo, alto flute, bass flute, clarinet, saxophone, and piano.
