PrepNow Tutor - Jackie R.
Jacqueline has dedicated her professional life to education and to helping others. First, she has followed her own academic interests. She holds a BA in film from Vassar College and an MBA from Webster University. Directly after college, she followed her professional passion to teach, working for years as a high school special education and science teacher. This experience propelled her to further serve the community she had taught, so she worked for nearly a decade in disability services to help young adults find employment. Currently, Jacqueline works as a curriculum writer for a large regional health system, creating lesson plans and training materials for hospital staff.
In addition to these various endeavors, Jacqueline also worked for over ten years in ACT and SAT prep tutoring, so she is well equipped to tutor all areas of the tests. Indeed, her varied training and teaching in the humanities, the sciences, business, and test prep math make her uniquely equipped to help StudyPoint students. Her tutoring style is also well suited to individual, rigorous test tutoring. She says, “I believe in differentiation—everyone is unique, and the way they learn is, too. Therefore, I help each student identify where they can grow and how to improve.” Jacqueline accomplishes this by assuring that material is relatable to students and that they can apply the knowledge directly. By encouraging students immediately to use the knowledge they have learned, she ensures that instant and lasting results are much more likely.
When she is not writing training materials or tutoring students, Jacqueline seeks to further her own education. In fact, she calls herself a “voracious reader” and “life-long learner,” continuously striving to know more about the world around her. Her past pursuits reflect her curiosity and energy: she was an actor and debater in high school and a rower and cheerleader in college. These days, she boasts of being a great home cook and is excited that she once shared a plane with Chuck Norris.
