PrepNow Tutor - Mihir S.

Mihir is a dedicated and compassionate tutor with a passion for teaching, mentorship, and lifelong learning. He holds a BS in neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas. “My resilience and leadership shine through in how I guide and support others,” Mihir says. “I value integrity, connection, and the power of education to create meaningful change.” Mihir is working towards medical school and pursuing a career focused on healthcare and community service. Since earning his BS, he has volunteered extensively at underserved clinics and co-founded Pink Ribbon Parcels, a non-profit providing diagnostic screenings for uninsured women. “Beyond healthcare, I mentor and tutor underprivileged students, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges,” Mihir says.
Mihir started teaching at a math learning center in 2019 as a high school senior, initially drawn to tutoring because he enjoyed helping his classmates grasp concepts in a way that made sense to them. “I gradually worked my way up from teaching younger students to tackling more complex topics with middle and high schoolers,” Mihir says. Over the years, Mihir has tutored pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, geometry, pre-calculus, and test prep. He has also trained new tutors, developed individualized lesson plans, and served as a liaison at a learning center, ensuring an effective learning environment.
“My teaching style is adaptive, patient, and student-centered,” Mihir says. “I focus on meeting students where they are and tailoring my approach to their individual needs. I believe that learning isn’t just about memorization but about truly understanding concepts in a way that makes sense to each student.” Mihir also emphasizes active engagement and critical thinking skills, using real-world analogies and step-by-step breakdowns to simplify complex topics in order to teach students how to think rather than just do. “My philosophy is that every student has the potential to succeed with the right guidance, and it’s my job to bridge the gap between confusion and clarity,” he explains. “Regardless of the age or ability of the student I’ve learned that patience and creativity are key to making learning accessible and enjoyable.”
In high school and college, Mihir was involved in a variety of activities that combined his interests in health, mentorship, and community service. He played tennis and volunteered in underserved clinics. As a mentor for the Foundation for CHOICE, he guided underprivileged high schoolers through academic and personal challenges to prepare for college.
Outside of work, Mihir enjoys staying active through tennis, volleyball, and football. He’s also passionate about traveling and cooking. “Exploring new places and learning about nature and different cultures is one of my greatest passions,” Mihir says.
