Aubrey's Bio

A versatile tutor, Aubrey has taught in a variety of settings, both one-on-one and in small groups, with students K-12. She has taught algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, AP calculus, AP statistics, as well as SAT math. She received her mathematics BS from Agnes Scott College in 2017 and later obtained an MS in mathematics from the Technical University of Munich. When Aubrey finished her bachelor's, she completed two internships at NASA. During her graduate studies in Germany, she worked part-time in software engineering positions; some of her tasks included statistical analyses, high-performance computing, big data analyses, and data science application development.

She began tutoring when she started helping friends during her high school years. Over the years, Aubrey has helped students significantly increase their SAT math scores. "I love seeing someone improve at math and start to understand things," she shares.

One of Aubrey's key teaching philosophy pillars is to personalize her one-on-one tutoring sessions. She proactively communicates to determine their preferred learning method and is quick to pivot if something isn't working. She often breaks up intense sessions by playing games and hearing about students' favorite hobbies. Regarding math skills, she takes an efficient approach, stating, "I work on repairing their math background relevant to the current material; then, I like to help them with their math background in general, going back as far as necessary."

Aubrey's graduated magna cum laude from Agnes Scott and earned a Dean's Scholarship during her undergraduate studies. She also was granted a scholarship (Deutschland Stipendium) to study at the university in Munich, Germany, where she graduated with an impressive GPA.

In high school, Aubrey played volleyball, participated in math and science honor societies, and was a valued member of the debate team. Currently, she enjoys pottery and fitness classes.
